Arnosto
The medieval village of Arnosto with its surrounding district catches the eye with its typically alpine buildings made entirely of stone, including the roofs, known as “in piode”.
Until the end of the 18th century, this high-altitude location, situated over 1000 metres a.s.l., represented the border between the Serenissima Republic of Venice and the Duchy of Milan. It was the seat of the Venetian Customs House, a building featuring inside many Venetian paintings, still there in all its grandeur.
Wandering around the village's cobbled streets, you can admire the Municipal Library, the Town Hall and the hidden gems in the Ethnographic Museum, which houses a collection of tools used by farmers and craftsmen in times past and a photographic exhibition of local people. From the village, numerous trails branch off to reach the Tre Faggi or Monte Resegone, at an altitude of 1875 metres a.s.l..
