Museum of navigation instruments
At Bellagio an interesting museum to visit is that of the Navigational Instruments located in an ancient tower building
The Museum of Navigation Instruments, located in a centuries-old renovated tower residence, displays a fascinating collection of objects and tools that have been used over the centuries for navigating the seas, allowing us to discover unexplored lands.
The exhibition comes from the private collection of Gianni Gini, who has devoted 40 years of research and passion to the cause, collecting more than 200 precious items including interesting pieces such as telescopes made in Venice in the 18th century, sundials, compasses, marine chronometers, an armillary sphere, a beautiful brass planetarium and 19th century logbooks.
A visit to the museum is an impressive and interesting way to discover the world of sailing and its history through the discovery of its tools. The Museum of Navigation Tools also hosts, from June to September, various exhibitions in collaboration with artists, including famous painters and sculptors.
