Villa Guerrinoni
From farmhouse to municipal library, the splendid Villa Guerrinoni in Seriate has been part of history since 1800.
Villa Guerrinoni is a historic villa in Seriate, in the province of Bergamo. Early information about the villa dates back to 1808, when it was registered as a farmhouse.
The owners changed over the years, until 1883, when it was purchased by the widow of Giandomenico Guerrinoni. In 1941 it became the headquarters for the novitiate of the Institute of Sisters of the Holy Family, which was moved to Comonte in 1969. In the 1980s, the villa was bought by the municipality of Seriate which made it the municipal library. Since 1987 it has been named after Giacinto Gambirasio, businessman, politician, writer, and poet from Seriate.
The rooms of the modern-day library are home to a large number of volumes and reading rooms, as well as a conference room, a workshop for plastic arts and painting, and three music rooms used by the Seriate Musical Band.
