Palazzo Agliardi
For the second stop of our tour, we don't have to go far. Palazzo Agliardi is located in Borgo Pignolo, one of Bergamo's historic boroughs, where the most important noble families built their sumptuous homes in the sixteenth century.
Built in the 1500s and renovated in the 1700s, this palace is made up of a large hall flanked by four rooms. As you stroll through the rooms, look up to admire the frescoed ceilings by Carlo Innocenzo Carloni and Federico Ferrario.
From the hall, you can look out over the hanging garden that frames the entire building. Head up the lawn, surrounded by a variety of flowers and plants, to take in splendid views of the Upper Town, with a glimpse of the bell tower of Sant'Alessandro della Croce.
