Botanical Gardens Pavia
A historic garden that has been located at its current site since the late decades of the 1700s
The Botanical Gardens were founded at the end of the eighteenth century and are currently maintained by the Department of Local Ecology at the University of Pavia. Amongst the varied and important collections that make a visit to the gardens a pleasure throughout the year, is the area inaugurated in 2004 relating to the arboretum mainly dedicated to autochthonous plants from the Padana plain woodlands. The Botanical Gardens organise numerous teaching and informative activities for the public and for schools, also with the support of the association Amici dell’Orto Botanico.
