Horti - Almo Collegio Borromeo
Horti is a green area in the historic centre of Pavia that is fully accessible to people with disabilities
HORTI is the park redeveloped as a public space by the Almo Collegio Borromeo of Pavia, where natural habitats, contemporary art, cultural reflection, ethical commitment, equity, and social inclusion intersect.
The Study Center coordinates the cultural program, fostering open, interdisciplinary, and cross-cutting dialogues between different fields of knowledge and eras.
The project is structured in three levels:
HORTI.OASI
This is the naturalistic park. Different habitats have been created to enhance and safeguard biodiversity.
New water pathways and over 3,000 new shrubs and plants encourage the arrival and conservation of local birdlife.
HORTI.ARTE
This is the permanent exhibition of contemporary art, also enriched by the archaeological excavation of the church of San Marco in Monte Bertone.
The Horti is a space where natural habitats, contemporary art, ethics, equity, and social inclusion intertwine, and the Arnaldo Pomodoro Foundation has contributed with the free loan of six monumental sculptures.
HORTI.ETICA
This is the commitment that guides the project toward some of its goals, such as social inclusion, the promotion of volunteer work, and the defense of sustainability, through the involvement of local institutions, organizations, associations, and businesses.
