Filomeeting 2024
FILOMEETING 2024
The Ai between apocalyptic and integrated will be the theme on which the eighth edition of Filomeeting, the weekend to talk and do philosophy open to all and organized by the City of San Fermo, through the Cultural Activities Commission, will focus.
On Oct. 12 and 13, philosophy will be done at Villa Imbonati with meetings and performances open to all and free admission, just book on Eventbrite (filomeeting2024.eventbrite.it).
Sixty years after the publication of Umberto Eco's Apocalyptic and Integrative, the challenge is to discuss the goodness or otherwise of Artificial Intelligence, and at Villa Imbonati this will be done through the contribution of experts who will take turns in dialogue with the public on the afternoon of Saturday, October 12.
Saturday's program will feature Aldo Frigerio, Philosophy of Language, Catholic University of Milan, who will speak on "What is an Artificial Intelligence?", followed by Ciro De Florio, Logic, Catholic University of Milan, who will bring to the discussion "Everything you wanted to know about Artificial Intelligence and asked ChatGPT." Then we will move on to "The Seasons of Artificial Intelligence: is the excitement already running out?!" with Davide Ciucci, Computer Science, University of Milano-Bicocca, and before a final aperitif we will discuss "Art and Artificial Intelligence" with Andrea Corti, OLO creative farm.
The afternoon of philosophical discussion is particularly suitable for students and adults, while Sunday will have an acrobatic show open to all, especially families. With "Can AI do it?" at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 13, balancing artist Mr. Lucky the Syrupy will offer a show in which, through a succession of mind-blowing acrobatic dexterity including balance roll, extreme handstands, vaulting on bars, the story of a charlatan and his miraculous tonic will be told, always with an eye to the philosophical theme because everyone, even children, can do philosophy.
