A path from the Prehistoric Age till the Modern Age
In the wonderful architectonic framework of the Sforza Fortress, this Museum, which was recently opened, describes through a chronological and thematic path, the settlement process which involved our territory from the Prehistoric Age till the 17thcentury.
The museum is divided in four rooms: the didactic section of the Second Iron Age is very interesting, here are exhibited some wonderful Celtic weapons which date back from the second half of the 3rd century b.C. till the end of the 2nd century b.C. The Roman age is described by the remains found in Bosco Vecchio/Gallignano, one of the few multi-layers sites of Cremona’s Province; the existence of a rural villa with its production plants to produce the bricks is confirmed by the brands containing the name of the producers. The path ends with a room dedicated to Soncino Village and to the Sforza Fortress: this section contains a rich selection of Renaissance pottery.
The Museum offers a didactic service for the schools and it proposes other initiatives like conferences, special events to enhance the cultural heritage or special Sundays at the Museum.
