The Silk Museum
Near the wonderful Sforza Fortress, in the framework of the old Spinning Mill in Soncino, the
Silk Museum offers the visitors the possibility to see some ancient tools used for the production of the silk, from the silkworms’ eggs till the silk.
The museum was born from a private collection of its curator, Enzo Corbani, which was started more than twenty years ago and then lasted till nowadays. Recently the Museum was enlarged and it was added a new room dedicated to the semi-worms companies which produce the eggs: it is one of the few rooms dedicated to this theme in Italy. In this section there are also some videos about the breeding of the silkworms and some posters.
