The basilica of San Lorenzo with its sophisticated Gothic façade was dedicated to Bartolino da Novara, who painted it at the end of 1300. Inside, the church with a nave and two aisles amazes the high number of paintings that have made the history of the Italian art. We find il Cerano in the large wooden table of the Crocifissione con la Maddalena and the SS. Ambrogio and Lorenzo kept in the chapel of the right aisle, while to the left there is the Polittico di San Giuseppe, wooden crèche made up of 80 images in low relief realized in the XV century by the Lorenzo da Mortara and considered one of the most important expressions of the Lombard wooden sculpture of the Renaissance. There are mentioned other works such as the fresco of Madonna delle Grazie, and the Madonna del Rosario of the painter Gerolamo Giovenone, referred to the Brera Academy of Milan that preserves a Madonna with Child.
