Leonardiana
On the trail of Leonardo da Vinci, the museum itinerary inside the Castello di Vigevano
Leonardiana is a unique place where, through exciting multimedia installations, it is possible to discover the whole oeuvre of one of the greatest geniuses in the history of mankind and his relationship with the city of Vigevano.
Reproductions of drawings, now housed in dozens of museums and libraries around the world, of the notebooks he kept every day, full of ideas and brilliant inventions, and of the codices that were assembled by his friends or heirs after his death.
The highlight of the museum is the "impossible picture gallery", which contains all the artist's known paintings, reproduced in full scale with special high-resolution techniques. Each work is accompanied by a comment that aims to describe its history and the events that made these masterpieces celebrated throughout the world. The museum is located within the Castle of Vigevano, one of the largest fortified structures in Europe and seat of the Renaissance court of Ludovico il Moro, Duke of Milan, for whom Leonardo Da Vinci worked for many years.
