The Lakes Ringway

An itinerary on two wheels immersed in a unique atmosphere.

You will pedal amid nature, art and history along the Adda river, starting at the city of Alessandro Manzoni's The Betrothed until reaching the lakes of Garlate and Olginate.

A two-wheel itinerary between the sky and the water in which you just have to hop on your bike seat and start pedaling. You will be immersed in a unique atmosphere, in a perfect balance with the mountains mirrored on the water surface serving as a backdrop.

This mixed ringway route counts with bike lanes, dirtroads and a brief section on asphalt roads. It is 20 km long with little to no elevation, suitable for amateur cyclists and families.

From the Azzone Visconti bridge on the right-hand shore of the Adda, you will go into a bike lane that goes along the river in order to arrive to Pescate's "Addio Monti" Park. The road continues surrounding the Garlate lake, where you can find the Abegg Silk Civic Museum

You will go on by the shores of Lake Olginate, then pass the dam and the bridge until reaching the former railway bridge of Lavello, repurposed with cycling in mind, connecting both shores and allowing for this ring shape.

The next stop is at the church of the Santa Maria del Lavello Convent, a prime example of Romanic architecture. On the way back, you can admire in Vercurago the remains of the Castle of Innominato and the Sanctuary of San Girolamo

The borough of Pescarenico in the side of Lecco is the last stage of this itinerary, with the former Capuchin Convent church and the suggestive square of Piazza Era, where you can admire a local kind of boat known as Lucia.
