Monte Scale
Excursions along the historic trails and panoramas of the Rhaetian Alps.
Monte Scale, which is 2509 metres high, is one of the most stunning hiking destinations in Valdidentro. There are various routes up to the peak, each with its own level of difficulty.
One popular route starts at the Ristoro Monte Scale restaurant, at about 2000 metres and crosses a variety of landscapes, from conifer woods to alpine plains, and up to the more rocky, harsher area near the peaks. It is ideal for expert excursionist who are seeking a challenge as well as the possibility to spot deer and other wildlife along the way.
Another route passes through the Torri di Fraele Pass. This itinerary passes by the historic towers dating back to the 14th century and offers unique views over the Cancano lakes and Valle di Fraele. This is a less direct route compared to the one that sets out from the Ristoro Monte Scale, but without a doubt, it is equally stunning. Regardless of your chosen route, a day out hiking on Monte Scale promises adventure, breathtaking panoramic views and close contact with alpine nature.
