MTB-Caiolo, Val Cervia

Caiolo, San Bernardo, Pranzera, Casa Scarì, tagliafuoco verso Val Cervia, Campelli in Val Cervia, Fienili di Arale, Cedrasco, Caiolo

This circular route exploits the high “fire-break path” that crosses from Cà Scarì above Caiolo to the road that leads up Val Cervia The ride up from Caiolo is tarmacked to San Bernardo and it then becomes a rough track with steep gradients over fairly compact terrain. The “fire-break path” has less steep gradients and heads towards Cedrasco, above Baite Fontane and reaching a crossroads with the road in Val Cervia, just above the Campelli mountain chalets at 1300 metres asl. This left-hand turn-off takes you back up on steep concrete ramps to Fienili di Arale. The downhill return route follows the tarmacked road that leads to the plain in Cedrasco. From Arale, the rough track continues for kilometres right along the valley (over 1900 metres), with a turn-off halfway that takes you to Casera Caprarezza.
