The dungeons’ museum
The Dungeons’ Museum in Pizzighettone is the first in Lombardy where are exhibited objects, tools and weapons used in the historic period of the dungeons (1785-1954). Inside of the cells are still visible the graffiti on the walls: they help us to discover the stories of the young people who were imprisoned here. This was one of the two worst military dungeons in Italy (1920-1945): big cells, no toilets or water, some punishments cells and small wet rooms for the worst inmates.
The museum tells us a rude but interesting story, the story of those who lived this terrible experience.
