Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra
Istvan Vardai cello*
* cello Antonio Stradivari “du Pré” 1673
The program proposed by the highly acclaimed Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra with Istvan Vardai in the dual role of conductor and solo cello is very attractive. After a very classical first part on the notes of the famous Little Night Serenade by Mozart and the Cello Concerto in C major by Haydn, the palette is enriched with rhythms and colors ranging from the popular Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 by Liszt and wild works by two authors yet to be discovered: the Hungarian Leo Weiner and the Bohemian David Popper.
