The programme proposed by the highly acclaimed Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra with Istvan Vardai in the double role of conductor and cello soloist is very attractive. After a very classical first part on the notes of Mozart's famous Piccola Serenata Notturna and Haydn's C major Cello Concerto, the palette is enriched with rhythms and colours, ranging from Liszt's popular Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 to wild works by two composers to be discovered: the Magyar Leo Weiner and the Bohemian David Popper.
