Sites of interest at Magasa
The small Church of San Lorenzo and a group of homes sit on a hill overlooking the valley. The twelve elderly inhabitants of this village still clearly remember the toils of cutting wood and making coal. August 10 is a very special holiday because the streets come alive as children, grandchildren and relatives who have moved away return to attend Holy Mass. After Mass, everyone receives a glass of wine and a piece of bread from the priest according to an ancient custom. Thus, simple ways are kept alive to preserve the traditions of past generations.
