Tignale

In a splendid position on Lake Garda, within the Upper Garda Bresciano Park, on a plateau of olive and fruit groves, Tignale is made up of six hamlets, with glimpses of a wide panorama of the lake.
Outside the capital, a steep road almost brings you to the top of Mount Cas, where there is sanctuary of the Madonna of Monte Castello of the XIII century, noted for its architectonic beauty and as a destination of pilgrimage.
From the olive groves is obtained, still according to the traditional method, a specialty extra virgin olive oil, Garda DOP, produced in the local oil mill. The Pra de la Fam, Tignale’s port, preserves an example of a lemon house.
What not to miss: the Park Museum, which documents the numerous naturalistic and landscape interests that characterise the territory.
The Church of Saint Peter, a little museum with early medieval tombs. San Giorgio in Varolo, an archaeological site in which traces of frescos are still visible. The Medieval markets that occur every week from June to August.
