VILLA DEL BALBIANELLO AND SACRO MONTE IN OSSUCCIO along the Greenway

An interesting itinerary rich in  architectural and natural beauties : Villa Del Balbianello, the most beautiful villa on Lake Como, hidden on the tip of Làvedo hill, where invaluable treasures are kept, and   Sacro Monte in Ossuccio, along the Holy Cross path and Lake Como Greenway, to discover a Unesco treasure.

Itinerary can be arranged to visit only Villa del Balbianello and its gardens (not including the hiking to Scro Monte); rooms can be visited only on request and according to availability. Please contact the guide for more.

An itinerary leading us to discover Tremezzina, an historic region on Lake Como also known as “oil bowl”, owing to the presence of a great number of olive trees plantations enjoying a unique microclimate.
Partly along cobblestone paths and partly along paths among olive groves, we will reach  Madonna del Soccorso Santuary and its chapels, telling us about the history of Jesus carrying its Holy Cross; Comacina island and its history; fishing villages hiding among important and rich villas; and last but not least Villa del Balbianello gardens. Rooms guided visit on request and according to availability.
Villa del Balbianello has been the set for a great number of movies among which Star Wars , and it was the house of one of the most important explorers and travellers in Italy, Guido Monzino. Nowadays, it can be considered a museum where you can admire the invaluable collections Monziono collected during his short but rich life.
