BERGAMO

Mountain Music Festival - MAGA Symphony - From 20th July to 15th August - Bergamo Alps
In the scenic Alpine panoramas of the Bergamo Alps, four magical evenings will come to life with symphonic music, free of charge, in July and August. The enchanting itineraries and tastings of local produce offered to participants enhance the Mountain Music Festival - MAGA Symphony, making it an occasion to celebrate the harmony between music and nature.

Noir nel borgo: intrigue in the palace - 14th August - Gromo
A mediaeval village shrouded in legends hosts a mysterious and intriguing evening event. On the night of Ferragosto (mid-August), Gromo, in the Lower Seriana Valley, offers guests a game of puzzle-solving in the village's streets and historic buildings. A perfect event for lovers of detective stories, which promises to keep everyone in suspense until the very last minute. To take part, remember to book by 5pm on 13th August - places are limited!

Full moon by e-bike - 19th August - Val Seriana, Val di Scalve
To admire the mountain landscape in all its night-time glory, 'Luna piena in e-bike' is the perfect summer event to experience between Val di Scalve and Val Seriana. With an apericena included and the accompaniment of a certified guide, the e-bike ride is a safe exploration, giving participants the exciting opportunity to get to know the mountains by moonlight.

Onde Musicali Festival - 3rd to 31st August - Various venues on Lake Iseo
Between the provinces of Bergamo and Brescia, the Onde Musicali Festival celebrates the enchantment of Lake Iseo with a collection of classical, symphonic, jazz, chamber music, and crossover performances. From May to August, internationally renowned artists take turns on the festival stages for a fascinating cultural and musical summer in an exceptional natural setting.

We Love Castello 2024 - 20th to 31st August - Brescia
The scenic location of Brescia Castle, on the Cidneo hill, is once again hosting the cultural event 'We Love Castello'. The programme of events is rich and interesting, including shows, concerts, fun and educational activities for children, and cultural routes to delve into the castle's history. There is no shortage of surprises for an experience that combines culture and entertainment, making the most of the city's artistic and historic heritage.

32nd Bienno Craft Market - From 24th August to 1st September - Bienno
For more than 30 years, the Bienno Craft Market has been transforming the beautiful village of Val Camonica into an open-air workshop, providing space for an arts and crafts festival with unique creations of national and international scope. But that's not all; shows and cultural events come to life in the village’s picturesque streets, enlivening local history with a colourful journey through time.

Lonato del Garda Bike Tour 2024 - From 18th May to 28th September - Lonato del Garda and surroundings 
Between May and September, Garda is given over to cycling, with mountain bike excursions between Valtènesi and the Via Morenica in Lonato del Garda. Accompanied by specialist cycling guides, the Lonato del Garda Bike Tour allows you to rediscover the area and its treasures, including the Rocca di Lonato and the Abbey of Maguzzano, with tastings to delight a green day, spent on the move.

COMO

Tremezzina Music Festival - From 29th July to 7th August - Tremezzina
Now in its 21st year, the Tremezzina Music Festival continues to enchant audiences with its multifaceted music event overlooking Lake Como. Between jazz talents, gospel choirs, Japanese sacred music, funk symphonies and experimental sounds, the festival spans a wide range of musical genres, infusing the fairytale location of Lake Como with avant-garde polyphonic sound.

Sunset Aperitifs - 4th August - Tremezzina
The elegantly romantic Villa del Balbianello opens the month of August with an exceptional evening opening. Guests will be able to enjoy an aperitif in the sumptuous gardens of one of the most beautiful historical residences overlooking the Lario. The event, organised by the FAI (Fondo Ambiente Italiano) is in its fourth year after the June and July dates and promises to be an unforgettable evening.

Bonzanigo in the cellar - 9th-10th August - Borgo di Bonzanigo, località Mezzegra
The historic centre of Bonzanigo, part of the locality of Mezzegra, which in turn is part of the Tremezzina area, is a jewel of the Como branch of Lake Como. Among its medieval alleys and seventeenth-century palaces, a complex history unfolds, which is brought to life with an exceptional tasting organised by the Associazione Canottieri Tremezzina.

A Stradivarius for AISM - 23rd August - Bellagio
Situated at the top of the Larian Triangle and world-famous for its postcard views, Bellagio dedicates its last days of summer to a charitable cause. Maestro Lorenzo Meraviglia will in fact play a genuine, precious Stradivarius from 1730 in a fund-raising concert. The proceeds will be donated to the Italian Multiple Sclerosis Association (AISM).

CREMONA

Cremona Summer Festival - From 23rd June to 29th August - Cremona  
The ancient art of violin making becomes the protagonist of the Cremona Summer Festival, a unique event that has been held in Antonio Stradivarius' hometown for fourteen years. Here, students from all over the world, accompanied by their teachers, friends and relatives, will perform on stringed, bowed and wind instruments in educational occasions with stunning performances.

LECCO

The Night of San Lorenzo - 10th August - Colico
On a magical night when anything is possible, Colico, the pearl of Lake Como at the gateway to the Valtellina, treats all those present to a memorable evening with music and a firework display. Between the fireworks and shooting stars, the event, with views of the lake, involves and unites in a special occasion to be spent in company. The event will start at 9pm in Piazza Garibaldi. 

 

LODI

Lodi in the sun: summer illuminates the city - 1st to 31st August - Lodi
Lodi's summer is enriched with creative initiatives, thanks to the “Lodi in the sun: summer illuminates the city” festival. For music lovers and art enthusiasts alike, the city offers its most atmospheric spaces for the most unique performances. A space for sharing and inclusion as well as to celebrate the birthday of Lodi, founded on 3rd August 1154.

MILAN

Summer at the Castle 2024 - 1st to 31st August - Milan
The Cortile delle Armi (Weapons Courtyard) of Milan's Castello Sforzesco, in the heart of the city, becomes the stage for a collection of musical and theatrical performances. Throughout the summer, Milan becomes a patron of culture, with almost twenty shows for young and old planned for the month of August alone. Between orchestral ensembles, the works of Shakespeare, and dance evenings, the programme is multifaceted and all to be discovered!

Sail on the Navigli! - From 4th August to 18th August - Boffalora Sopra Ticino
The Naviglio Grande, an important artificial waterway stretching 50 km, returns navigable in the summer for a refreshing escape from the chaotic urban dynamism. Throughout the month of August, the municipality of Boffalora Sopra Ticino is the starting point for excursions immersed in the greenery of the Parco Del Ticino. The event is unique and original, but remember to book your place in advance.

MANTUA

Goblets of stars 2024 - 10th August - Volta Mantovana
Located in the moraine hills of Lake Garda, Palazzo Gonzaga is the jewel in Mantua’s crown. A very large architectural structure, which is an important historical legacy and also hosts a range of events in the summer. These include a sumptuous dinner on the Night of San Lorenzo, accompanied by a refined wine tasting for elite palates. A fairytale evening of regal elegance.

MONZA

Formula 1 Pirelli Italian Grand Prix 2024 - From 30th August to 1st September - Monza
The most eagerly awaited motorsport event of the season returns, as it does every year, to the circuit that has written its history for 100 years. For one weekend between August and September, Brianza is turns Ferrari red and the spotlight is on the Autodromo di Monza circuit, which becomes the driving force behind initiatives and events between the city and the Temple of Speed.

PAVIA

Palio dl'Urmon - 23rd August to 1st September - Robbio
There is a historical event that drives the summer closure in Pavia's Lomellina and finds its origin in Robbio, an ancient village crossed by the Via Francigena. 1985 saw the birth of the Palio dl'Urmon, a popular event uniting the eight districts of Pavia with historical processions, games in the square and street food. An invitation to community participation in the name of tradition.

Brüsadèla Festival - 25th August - Romagnese
A culinary tradition that has been handed down for generations in the Romagna area is that of the Brüsadèla, a tasty, round-shaped focaccia that precedes the baking of bread, indicating the perfect oven temperature for baking. For twenty-nine years, the Sagra della Brüsadèla has been a reference point in the Oltrepò Pavese area for a day dedicated to good food and wine tasting.

 

SONDRIO

Hidden Valtellina - 9th to 25th August - Valtellina, Various destinations
The Valtellina Nascosta (Hidden Valtellina) initiative is part of the #Destinazione Bresaola (Bresaola Destination) campaign, with the aim of making Valtellina known through its typical delicacy. Fifteen stops in the area are featured in the “Storie Segrete” [Secret Stories] podcast and 21 locations join the 21 Bresaola Experience Points, where you can enjoy a tasty aperitif.

Cima Coppi climb - 31st August - Bormio, Stelvio Pass
For road cycling fans, the scenic landscapes of the Stelvio National Park offer a non-competitive event open to all. It starts from Bormio, destination the legendary Stelvio Pass, with its winding route consisting of a scenic road with 48 hairpin bends and, at 2758 metres, what is traditionally known as the Cima Coppi of the Giro d'Italia.

VARESE

Toeplitz - From Varese to the East - 9th June to 31st August - Varese
The Villa Toeplitz Monumental Park in the north of Varese has a history dating back to the beginning of the last century. Its owner, Joseph Toeplitz (known as Giuseppe), a Polish-born banker, lived here with his second wife, Hedwig Mrozowska. Their story, influenced by oriental charm and immersed in the wonders of the Villa Toeplitz park, is told in an exhibition.

"Il Lago Cromatico" Festival - 1st August to 31st August - Lake Maggiore, Various destinations
Angera, Travedona Monate, Ranco, Brebbia. These are some of the stages of the Lago Cromatico Festival, which, from June to September, pays homage to the Varese area with music, history and nature. There are four events in August, to fully experience the sounds, colours and flavours of the area, in combination with many other activities.

Picnic in Villa - 15th August - Casalzuigno
Once a country residence, then the sumptuous 18th-century villa of a wealthy Lombard family, Villa Bozzolo is an artistic institution in the province of Varese. An FAI property that, on August bank holiday, opens its doors to the public with special guided tours throughout the day and a picnic for those who wish to immerse themselves in the natural beauty of the park.
