Lombardy has a historical and natural heritage that is often overlooked. 

Choose a destination and take the time to watch and contemplate the Region's splendid villas, most of which face its lakes, where various gardens grow due to a mild climate that favors the vegetation growth. These gardens have been used as backgrounds for numerous movie productions, Villa D'Este of Cernobbio, Balbianello in Tremezzina-Lenno just to mention a few. 

Near Lake Como we find Carlotta, famous for its awe-inspiring terraces and blooming Camellias. At the Garda on the other hand rises the Vittoriale degli Italiani, quite appreciated by Gabriele D'Annunzio. 

Milan also offers some dazzling sights for visitors. Lainate in particular is full of lavish gardens and waterworks. 

Minoprio in Vertemate gives you the chance to walk through a botanical garden, large greenhouses harboring rare tropical species and an extensive fruit orchard. 

When in Lecco, remember to go to Olgiate Molgora and visit the Residenza Sommi Picenardi, an English-style field flanked by the geometrical rigor of Italian gardening.
