Val palot
The last paradise near your home!
Val Palot, overlooking the enchanting mirror of Lake Iseo, winds along the ancient road that connects Pisogne to Pezzaze.
With the enviable scenic beauty that is characteristic of this alpine region, and a tranquillity only to be found in smaller resorts, this is the ideal destination for all sporting and outdoor recreational activities, both in summer and winter. It stands at 1,100 metres above sea level, a perfect altitude for family holidays and excursions with children or the elderly.
For traditional downhill skiing there are two runs: one for beginners and children and a more challenging trail (open through the evening) that is particularly difficult towards the bottom with a gradient worthy of a professional giant slalom competition. Snow is never in short supply thanks to the presence of the latest snow machines.
The ValPalot Ski Team strives to promote the territory and invests resources to create opportunities for young people. Each year more than 1,500 children attend free ski courses thanks to financial assistance from the municipality, province and mountain community association.
Cross country skiing enthusiasts can head out on the nearby Passabocche track, while alpine skiers won't want to miss the giant of the Pre-alps, Mount Guglielmo, standing at 1950 metres, of which only 1700 from the base.
This imposing mass offers trails lined with pine, fir and beech trees, which are also suitable for snowshoeing and provide a 360° view over the Val Trompia and low lying Valcamonica.
Anyone travelling through Val Palot must be sure to taste the local speciality of the Pre-alps east of Lake Iseo and the low lying Valcamonica: silter.
Made exclusively from the milk of the high land Bruna Alpina cow breed, this cheese is aged for 6 to 12 months and prepared according to a traditional method passed down through the generations.
