Arriving at Lanzada, in Valmalenco, travellers can immerse themselves in a fairy-tale scenario, almost the set of a science fiction film. 

It is home to one of the rare soapstone mines, commonly known as talc. 
Upon entering, one is fascinated by the immaculate whiteness of the walls, which, as if painted, reflect the light of the visitors' torches.
It is easy to imagine the enchanted appearance of this place inhabited by the miners of yesteryear who, armed with the tools of the trade, proceeded to manually extract the precious talcum powder, used mainly in the cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries.
