Hop back on your bike after a walk between the Sempione Park and the Cathedral. The main route goes east, although it is possible to close the ringroad that you started at the first stage to go back to Monza. There is a bike lane between Cusano Milanino and Cinisello Balsamo that you can use there. If you wish to discover new places, hidden by whoever travels by car, just follow the waters of the Naviglio Martesana using the remarkable cycling lane that lies beside it. This canal has the purpose of bringing the waters of the Adda river to Milan. The original project started in the mid XVth  century, it seems that Leonardo da Vinci helped design it.
The outskirts of Milan leave room for the first farmhouses and cultivated fields, even though the Milanese hinterland is large. It is a very popular bike lane frequented by residents.
You may traverse by bike the historic center of towns born along the shores of the canal. Do not miss the localities of Cernusco sul Naviglio and Gorgonzola, which gives the famous cheese its name. Keep pedaling through the plains and you will get to see the source of the water from the Martesana naviglio. That means you just arrived to Cassano d'Adda.
