Piste del Corniolo
To conclude our alpine tour, we will follow the course leading down from the 1790m peak of Monte Corniolo down to 1200m, accessible by taking the four-seater covered chairlift that begins in the village of Alpiaz, the main centre and the cornerstone of daily life and nightlife in Montecampione.
This is where the most evocative and adrenaline filled pistes unfold, boosted by a view that sweeps across the Lombardian Prealps and a practicability that is always guaranteed thanks to the computerised artificial snow system, of which Montecampione can boast the first ever facility.
Proud of a difference in altitude that is comparable to that of Alpine resorts (this is in the Prealps, after all), il Corniolo’s Superpanoramica 2 is a medium-difficulty piste and one of the longest in the ski area which, thanks to its connection to n.1 Fodestal, allows you to access the Intermediate piste and provides a route to Residence La Splaza passing under the chairlift.
With 18 slopes for all levels of difficult (3 blue, 11 red and 4 black) developed along 30 km on an extremely wide valley sheltered from the wind and always pleasantly exposed to sun and with 10 ski lifts, since the 1970s the Montecampione Ski Area has become one of the key locations for skiers in the mountains around Brescia.
Located on a charming panoramic terrace overlooking Lake Iseo all the way up to Monte Rosa and Bernina, the ski area is popular not only due to its enviable position but also due to its proximity to the cities of Bergamo and Brescia as well as being less than 2 hours away from Milan.
Montecampione’s ski resort will also soon be easily reachable by train thanks to an agreement between Trenord and a convenient train + shuttle + ski pass package available for the entire 2021/2022 season.
