Limone sul Garda
For lovers of citrus fragrances and bike rides with lakeside views.
Limone sul Garda is the northernmost municipality on the Lombard shore of Lake Garda and owes its name to the lemons that have been grown there since 1700. There are numerous lemon groves still active and open for visits in the area.
These include the Limonaia del Castèl, an orchard of historical renown where, from March to October, the fragrant citrus fruits can be admired on a peaceful walk from the old town centre, following decorated ceramic tiles through the cobbled streets.
In Limone sul Garda, picturesque narrow streets wind their way through colourful houses, souvenir shops, boutiques, and little restaurants, preserving the historical value of characteristic churches. Since 2018, there has also been an extraordinary cycle-pedestrian path from the city centre to Capo Reamol, a route of more than 5 km suspended 50 metres over the water. Definitely worth trying. For lovers of seaside activities, Limone sul Garda also offers beautiful beaches and numerous green activities that can be enhanced at the end of the day with a lakeside aperitif, enjoying the panorama of the flower-filled village.
Limone sul Garda can be reached by car, taking the A4 Milan-Venice motorway to Desenzano Sul Garda, where there is also a station if you are travelling by train. From here, we recommend the boat.
