Geological Park in Chiareggio
The geological park in Chiareggio allows you to discover the geological secrets of the entire Alpine arc.
The geological park in Chiareggio allows you to discover the geological secrets of the entire Alpine arc. This is an open area where a copious amount of figurative material and different types of rocks was collected, capable of introducing the naturalistic and geological aspect of the Alpine chain. The visitor can therefore have a key to understanding the landscape that will allow him to observe the rocks with greater attention and awareness. The Park, located in Chiareggio and developed on an open area of 2 hectares of wooded arboreal land, is planned in an educational path divided into 3 sections:
- the roof where 4 geological tables concerning the globe, the Alpine orogeny and Valmalenco are placed;
- the path that starts from the entrance where the different rock samples are lined up;
- a natural terrace where 2 geological maps detail the visible views.
Just before entering Chiareggio, on the right, a paved road bordered by stone walls leads to the roof that is the entrance to the Geological Park.
Close to the geological park, it is possible to visit the marmots, in an area where these friendly and sociable animals live.
