Charterhouse of Pavia Museum
Charterhouse of Pavia Museum - A magnificent overview of the great artistic personalities who worked on the Certosa of Pavia
The Charterhouse of Pavia Museum is located within the Certosa di Pavia, a historic building owned by the State, and occupies the spaces of the so-called Ducal Palace.
Permanently opened in 2008, the museum is spread over two floors with a permanent exhibition. Its mission is to protect, preserve, enhance, display, and promote knowledge of the historical and artistic heritage on display, which originates from the Charterhouse monument.
The museum collaborates with other museums in the city of Pavia on educational and cultural initiatives aimed at diverse audiences, ranging from school students to the general public.
The museum operates under the Regional Museum Hub of Lombardy, a branch of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism. The same institution oversees both the financial management and the staffing of the museum.
