The Ropemakers' Museum
The Ropemakers' Museum is an interesting news in the panorama of Casalmaggiore's museums and it represents a great opportunity of ethno-graphic analysis.
It was born with the aim of building the memory of a social phenomenon that characterized the village of Castelponzone for at least two centuries: the rope-making tradition. This activity became quite important and it involved the majority of the inhabitants.
In the Museum there is a complete collection of the tools used in the past to make the rope. The exhibition includes a great variety of ropes and objects made in rope.
The museum is completed by some historical pictures which represent the rope-makers during their work. Moreover, there are also some videos made by the latest generations of rope-makers.
