Foghera Mine
Comune di Oneta (BG)
The mine, which can be visited for a distance of about 200 metres, was actually active until the 1980s when the mining activity that had characterised the entire Val del Riso and the neighbouring Val Parina for centuries finally ceased.
The mine has ancient characteristics and retains its peculiarities of the time when technology had not yet evolved.
The interior environment is evocative: in fact, one encounters a small lake, a natural cavity (produced by water erosion) that is also interesting from a speleological point of view, and a large 'hall' that could be equipped with the miner's work tools, trying to create suggestions through the spectacular use of light.
The mine can be reached via a driveway that can also be used by coaches. A large car park is about 200 metres away, with bathroom facilities and a refreshment area.
