Historical Reenactment of the Battle of Pavia 1525-2025
A dive into european history
February 24, 1525, is a date that left an indelible mark on European history. On that day, near Pavia, one of the most significant battles of the Renaissance took place: the Battle of Pavia. The clash saw the French army of Francis I face off against the Spanish-Imperial forces led by the Viceroy of Naples, Charles de Lannoy, serving under Charles V of Habsburg. The result was a resounding victory for the Spanish-Imperial forces, marking the beginning of Spanish supremacy in Italy and Europe.
Almost 500 years after this epic clash, the memory of the battle comes to life with an extraordinary historical reenactment that will take place from February 21 to 23 at the Park of Mirabello Castle, a symbolic site of the battle.
