Discovering the lavender fields in Oltrepò Pavese

Lavender is synonymous with Provence, with rows of blue-violet flowers being a classic image in many postcards and photographs.

On the hills of Oltrepò Pavese, just a few kilometers from Milan, we can discover the purple color and fragrance of lavender.

Lavender is an evergreen plant: a lavender bush will never be bare, even in winter it will still have leaves.

Due to its visual impact during blooming, which lasts from late May to the first weeks of July, these areas have also become a tourist attraction for photography lovers.

The best time for capturing photos of the blooming fields and expanses of purple remains from mid-June to the first week of July.

Lavender is hand-harvested at the peak of its bloom during the balsamic period to produce a wide range of products, from face and body creams to soaps, perfumes, air fresheners, candles, and much more.

L’Agriturismo e Bed&Breakfast il Melo Rosso si trova a Fortunago, Località Cà de Vecchi, paese sulle colline dell’Oltrepò Pavese (riconosciuto come uno de Borghi più belli d’Italia). Il Melo Rosso è la realizzazione di un progetto che cerca innanzitutto una stretta simbiosi fra azienda agricola e attività agrituristica cosi come vorrebbe la vera filosofia dell’agriturismo

L'Azienda si trova sulle colline dell'Oltrepò Pavese, in un versante soleggiato che si affaccia sull'antico borgo di Varzi. La coltivazione di Lavanda (Lavandula angustifolia o officinalis) è iniziata nel 2010, è priva di qualunque apporto chimico ed affidata esclusivamente alla naturale ricchezza del terreno, all'acqua e all'aria particolarmente pura di questa zona. Inoltre, tutte le fasi della lavorazione e trasformazione sono rigorosamente manuali.

L'azienda Agricola Torre Memoriola nasce a Borgoratto Mormorolo con lo scopo di produrre Zafferano spezia, e Lavanda per olio essenziale. Produce tutto in filiera corta, a km zero, e sulla Lavanda sarà certificata biologica a dicembre 20. Coltiva Lavanda su 5 campi, 2 a Lavanda Angustifolia e 3 a Lavanda Intermedia, che viene poi distillata grazie al prorpio distillatore, e inflaconata nel laboratorio a uso alimentare.

Il B&B La Locanda del Molino gestito da una giovane famiglia milanese trasferita in queste bellissime colline, si trovo a Molino della Signora frazione di Fortunago Il B&B è arredato in stile shabby ed è contornato dal campo di lavanda L'azienda agricola coltiva lavanda da cui si estrae olio essenziale e presto sarà disponibile una linea alla lavanda

La Lavanda del Borgo di Pancarana
Pancarana è un piccolo comune di 300 abitanti dell'Oltrepò Pavese e si trova presso la riva destra del Po. Qui nella pianura alluvionale del Po sono state collocate circa 3000 piante nel maggio del 2020. La cura della piantagione viene effettuata in prospettiva di coltura biologica, pertanto non vengono utilizzati diserbanti, la pulizia della piante viene effettuata manualmente . Nel giugno 2021 le piante hanno prodotto la prima fioritura completa , il territorio è stato popolato da migliaia di api e farfalle per la gioia dei vari visitatori e fotografi.
