Lake Maggiore is the main protagonist on the firs stage of this itinerary. Discover its eastern shores in Zenna, which border with Switzerland.

Follow the shoreline's headlands and inlets, discovering each time new perspectives towards the settlements and elevations of the opposite shore. If you feel particularly athletic, try to challenge yourselves with the curves that take to upper Maccagno: you will be rewarded by the unforgettable panoramic view of the lake and its surrounding territories.

Keep going along the main route and you will notice on your left the slopes become more gentle and less steep. You will see at Luino how the narrow valley opens: the time to leave the lake behind has come, but don't worry, you will be able to admire it once again a few kilometers down the road. A beautiful cyclin lane will help you go into the Lugano Prealps. Take a break in Casalzuigno and spend some time visiting Villa Della Porta Bozzolo: the indoor decorations, its symmetrical garden and the monumental XVth century wine press will leave a lasting memory of this journey. Keep pedaling for a couple kilometers and you will see Lake Maggiore again: enjoy a slow walk along the lake front, you earned it!
