The Via Decia, the path of the iron woods
A thread of tranquility that winds in five stages and ninety-five kilometers, connecting two valleys: the Valle Camonica and the Valle di Scalve; and two provinces: Bergamo and Brescia. A journey along the course of the Dezzo river - Decio for the ancient Romans - through hectares of forest.
Infinite variations of green, yellow and red, like the changing of the seasons. An immersion in the landscape that is also a leap into memory: from the iron mines to the Gleno catastrophe. This is La Via Decia, created to make this uncontaminated and still little-known part of the Lombard Alps in the shadow of the Presolana massif accessible to lovers of beauty. Where illustrious personalities such as the philologist Cardinal Angelo Mai or the sculptor Giovanni Giuseppe Piccini were born. And where it is still possible to recognize the secret plot that has always linked man to nature in the faces and stories of the people who live there.
The Via Decia, the result of a project by the Cai Valle di Scalve subsection, awaits you, even if you are traveling in groups, for schools or simply want to live a unique experience.
