Pian del Poggio is a ski resort located in the municipality of Santa Margherita Staffora, strategically positioned at the crossroads of three regions—Liguria, Emilia-Romagna, and Lombardy. It is easily accessible from major cities such as Genoa, Piacenza, and Milan.

At an altitude of 1,700 meters, Monte Chiappo stands as the most beautiful and renowned peak in the upper Oltrepò Apennines. For over three decades, it has welcomed thousands of enthusiasts, including skiers, hikers, and vacationers.

Since 2015, Pian del Poggio has featured three active downhill trails, some of which follow the historic track where the Italian Championship was held more than 15 years ago. The resort aims to regain its past success, thanks in part to contributions from mountain biking legends such as Pippo Marani (organizer of the World Cup in Val di Sole) and Bruno Zanchi (multiple-time Italian Downhill Champion).
