14V Bellano-Alpe Camaggiore

The route leads from the Bellano shore to the Camaggiore alpine resort. It starts from the scenic Piazza San Giorgio, located in the heart of downtown Bellano, a short walk from the parking lot of the Bellano - Tartavalle Terme train station. The route winds along the lakefront to the ascent to Vendrogno passing by the Sanctuary Madonna delle Lacrime, of Lezzeno and the Museum of Milk and the History of Muggiasca. This part of the route is on a provincial road characterized by hairpin bends at a constant gradient, with an asphalt surface that makes pedaling quite challenging, especially because of its considerable length. During this section, you pass through the scenic villages of Vendrogno, Inesio and Mosnico. Having also passed the village of Sanico, the gradient becomes even steeper, and for a short stretch, the road becomes unpaved approaching Camaggiore. One of the most scenic viewpoints on Lake Como. The route is suitable all year round thanks to its southern exposure. From a technical point of view, the route is relatively easy, but from a physical point of view, it requires considerable effort. There are several points along the route to refuel with water.
