Tosca&Nino
Italy is a country that has always excelled from the eno-gastronomic point of view and ToscaNino is a place to immerse yourself completely in the excellence of Tuscany: a gastronomy, a deli, a concept store and bakery all together in one. The idea comes from two Florentine entrepreneurs who, after a long experience in the world of banqueting and catering, decided to give life to a unique place – first in Florence and then in Milan – welcoming like a home, which would help valorize the small and medium level local producers.
Characterized by rustic wooden elements, large glass cases, colorful cushions on the benches and modern lamps, ToscaNino is the perfect place where you can have a direct experience of the best that Tuscany has to offer. The small lounge area at the entrance immediately conveys the feeling of a warm and welcoming atmosphere, where you can sip a fine (and strictly Tuscan) wine from their well-stocked wine cellar or even a drink as the space also offers a sophisticated cocktail bar, run by Danny Del Monaco, Italy’s champion barman of 2017.
Entering the restaurant you immediately see the deli counter: a rich and inviting selection of meats, cheeses, pickles and desserts coming only from trusted local producers. But at ToscaNino there is not only “shopping” at the counter or an aperitif: you can also relax at the restaurant that offers cold cuts and cheese platters (also in vegetarian version) accompanied by Sbirulino, a homemade bread from their oven; first courses of fresh pasta such as pappardelle with wild boar ragout, potato tortelli of Mugello with white ragout or the ravioli of Maremma; and then the tomato soup, the Livornese-style cod and many others. And of course, there is certainly no lack of great classics like the Fiorentina steak made with Scottona or Chianina.
The surprises do not end here because ToscaNino is a world that speaks Tuscan in every corner: in fact, the concept store, is also provided with a small bookcase that recounts every facet of the region: landscapes, cuisine, art, proverbs and fairy tales. To make the atmosphere even more suggestive, there are the furnishings, also Tuscan, of course, and affordable: Carrara marble, Montelupo ceramics, Empoli glass, Casentino wool and Scarperia knives. In short, ToscaNino is a trip to Tuscany in the heart of Milan just waiting to be experienced.
