Breme
Un piccolo borgo medioevale ricco di storia alla confluenza dei fiumi Po e Sesia in Lomellina
Breme town encompasses many interesting destinations including Abbazia di San Pietro and its crypt which were built in the early 10th century by Benedictine abbot Donniverto from the famous Abbazia di Novalesa in the upper Susa Valley. Abbazia di S. Pietro was one of the most important abbeys in Europe from the 10th to the 13th centuries. The following are also not be missed: its 8th century baptistery, 16th century kitchen and refectory, 10th-16th century Chiesa di S. Maria Assunta and 10th to 16th century CHIESETTA DI S. MARIA DI POLLICINO. From June to September you can also try out the deliciously sweet Breme Red Onion (DECO and Pavia Breadbasket product), experience its NATURE TRAILS on foot or by bike from the starting point of the confluence of the Po and Sesia rivers. Not to be missed: the LOMELLINA ROMANESQUE ROUTE: BREME - LOMELLO – VELEZZO.
