E-bike Classic Lake Como Villages with a Local Touch
Be surprised as we take unexpected roads and alleys to reveal the rural charm and many stories behind the lakefront facades of the lake's most popular villages. We explore the Tremezzina area, starting our tour from above Menaggio in Cardano.
Today’s tour is about visiting the must-see villages in the Tremezzina area, with their elegant lakefront villas such as Villa Carlotta, and revealing them in all of their beauty, the lesser-known and more rural aspects included. Discover the spontaneous olive groves, green pastures, hidden churches and old stone washhouses where women would meet and scrub the day’s laundry together. You will be amazed how quickly the landscape changes and how much is to be found just off the main lake road and down little alleyways impossible to reach by car. We will weave in and out of the famous ‘Greenway’ path and follow the tracks of Mussolini, recounting the stories and intrigues of his final days. We will see some of the oldest churches on the lake as we ride in search of the prettiest squares where we can enjoy the local lifestyle and stop for an ice-cream or coffee. Suggestive lake views will follow us throughout the journey. Our aim is to leave you with a sense of what it is like to live on Lake Como. This tour is perfect for first time visitors and regulars to the lake.
