Religious Itineraries

Travel, walking

Lombard religious itineraries will take you to discover an intimate side of this territory. Not only the faithful will venture into these itineraries.

Religious tourism means to embark into a path of inner research and enrichment. It could be a valuable experience for those who wish to live a quieter kind of tourism.

Lombardy has numerous places of worship surrounded by art and nature, offering opportunities for personal growth.

The Francigena Road is an itinerary that traverses France until reaching Rome. Along the trail from the Castle of Garlasco to the Certosa of Pavia, you will appreciate its magnificent artworks and religious landmarks in the Region.

The Via Priula is a XVIth century roadway built to connect the cities of Bergamo and Morbegno (SO).   Linking both zones was complicated due to the intersection with Spanish rule at the existing course. It was devised to create a new way to go over the Bergamasque Alps.

Near the top of the pass of San Marco, one of the largest ones, there is a shelter for wanderers that still welcomes pilgrims to this day.

The route of Sant'Agostino, on the other hand connects twenty five Marian Sanctuaries in Brianza. It spreads beyond Lombardy and makes part of a series of pathways that lead to the saint's tomb.
