Canoeing

Canoeing is a fun and relaxing water sport, that puts you in touch with nature at its wildest and the most beautiful lakes and waterways in Lombardy.

In a number of different places there are courses for all skill levels and group outings, an ideal way to spend a fun day with friends and family.

The extensive expanse of Lake Maggiore is the ideal place to set off on a canoeing adventure, travelling long distances surrounded by breathtaking natural landscapes.

On Lake Como there are a number of schools that offer canoe rental services so one may paddle across the waters and come into contact with an uncontaminated environment. One can also enjoy guided outings to nature reserves where one can admire unique landscapes featuring reed groves, overhanging cliffs overlooking deep waters, beautiful waterfalls and isolated beaches.

Lake Garda and its surroundings offer many opportunities for sports enthusiasts to practise Canoeing.  The many inlets, beaches and rock faces make the landscape unique, to be admired in a more leisurely fashion in July and August, when the winds abate, and canoe outings are slower.  If you don't own a canoe, most of the main beaches can provide rental equipment.

Even Lake Iseo offers the opportunity of spending a relaxing time discovering its very distinctive vegetation while admiring it from a canoe.
