Villa Alari Visconti
Villa Alari is a sumptuous Rococo-style villa that was built in the 18th century in Cernusco sul Naviglio.
In 1776 Archduke Ferdinand of Austria-Este tried to purchase it but his negotiations with Count Giacinto Alari were unsuccessful and the Archduke consoled himself by building Villa Reale in Monza.
The prestige of this historic villa in undeniable; it is certainly the most important in Cernusco, a combination of majesty and great style. It was designed by Giovanni Ruggeri, in 1703, and was originally located in a long clearing that continued beyond the Naviglio. The villa’s fame is largely due to the frescoes on the ground floor and piano nobile.
