The Gothic Lombard Castle of Abbiategrasso awaits you for a visit before leaving for the itinerary that leads to Pavia. In red brick and square plan, it is today the seat of the Municipality and of the Civic Library.

The journey takes you to the Ticino Park, in the presence of Morimondo Abbey: founded in 1136 by Cistercian monks from the town of Morimond, it immediately became fundamental for agriculture, like its sisters of Viboldone and Chiaravalle. Passing the Ticino over a bridge of barges is an unforgettable experience. Where? In Bereguardo, a contraction of Bello sguardo, ‘a beautiful look’, the boats are lifted and lowered following the levels of the water.
On the other shore, the canal is your guide: follow it and arrive at Pavia, the ancient capital of the Lombard Kingdom. Along the way there is Certosa, famous all over the world, desired by the Visconti. Ancient monastery takes inspiration from the structure of the Milan Cathedral.
