From Tonale Pass to Breno
This stage may seem long to you, but do not worry, it's all downhill. You will go through the 1883 mt altitude of the Tonale Pass to 343 meters in Valcamonica's Breno. Just relax and enjoy the view!
The Tonale Pass in the Rhaetian Alps connects the valleys of Val di Sole and Val Camonica. The latter will welcome you as you go down towards west among various curves. You will find a memorial dedicated to the soldiers of the Italian and Austro-Hungarian who fought each other during World War I, then there is a Museum that focuses on the period known as the Mountain War Adamello a Temù, just a few kilometers away from the start.
The Oglio river will keep you company through this entire itinerary, it might be narrow right now but it will grow as you keep pedaling.
You will experience a constantly changing view of the valley near the Bergamasque Alps. Furthermore, you will have the time to taste local delicacies, from cheese such as the Mascherpa to cold meats like the Strinù and desserts as the Spongada.
Breno is perfect for resting after a long day of bike riding. The castle can be seen from the city and it is easy to reach it by foot.
