In this stage you will discover one of the most beautiful and famous Alpine valleys in the country: the Valtellina, born out of the water course of the Adda river.

 Its Alpine landscapes will certainly make you enjoy the pleasure of riding a bicycle since it goes slightly downhill along the entire path. There are several irrisistible stops where you can take a break, the lagoon of Grosotto is a prime example. If you feel particularly athletic, try one of the many climbs that depart from the bottom of the valley and reach the small hillside settlements: your efforts will be rewarded with breathtaking landscapes on the path below you.

An alternative to the standard road would be to reach Sondrio and Edolo by surpassing the pass of Aprica, this variant is recommended for trained cyclists due to an elevation of almost 500 meters.
