You can easily reach Aviatico by public transport: take the S20 bus from Bergamo, change at Nembro, and ride the Albino-Selvino cable car. If you prefer driving, parking is available on Via Amora in the Cantul area of Aviatico (1,020 m) along provincial road SP42.

Towards the rock formations of Cornagera

Once you arrive, head towards Via Cornagera. After just a few meters, you will find the entrance to the n. 537 trail, which begins steeply and is surrounded by nature.
This initial section quickly immerses you in the heart of the route, giving you a taste of the natural wonders ahead. As you continue along the trail, you will reach the first stop where the ground becomes gravelly. Here, the striking rock formations of the Cornagera rise on the horizon. You will notice climbing routes on the towers' walls. This is the perfect spot to take a break and admire the surrounding landscape.

Through the labyrinth to “Büs de la Carolina”

The trail continues through the "labyrinth", a section known for its uneven terrain. This passage connects trail 537 to trail 521, leading you to the summit of Cornagera at 1311 meters.
The peak is reachable in about 15 minutes, with some vertical sections adding a touch of adventure to your hike, though these should be tackled only by experienced hikers. After exploring the summit, it is time to head back and rejoin trail 537. This will take you through the narrow passage of “Büs de la Carolina”, where tall rock walls allow little sunlight to enter. This part of the trail is particularly striking and offers a unique experience for hikers.

Arrival at Monte Poieto: relaxation and fun

As you climb further, you will reach an elevation of 1360 meters and arrive at Monte Poieto, your final destination. Here, a breathtaking panorama of woods and pastures unfolds before you, with a view over the valley below that seems endless. To the north, you can admire the towering Alben and Arera peaks, while to the east lies the wide Seriana Valley and the Five Lands of Val Gandino, with the vast Farno plateau.
Monte Poieto is the ideal place to relax after the hike. You can enjoy a picnic on the grass, take in the scenery, and let the little ones have fun in the playground area. This is the perfect moment to soak in the beauty of the Bergamo landscape and recharge your energy.
