Rural settlements in Colorina

Romito

Romito

The settlement of Romito is at the entrance of the town of Colorina, coming from Poira. The first buildings encountered are particularly interesting, because of their wide inner courts with wash houses and covered passages. The settlement probably dates back to the Middle Ages, even though the architectural features remind of Eighteenth - Nineteenth century styles.  A house features a fresco (probably dating frome the Sixteenth-Seventeenth century) depicting the Virgin with two saints, while on another building there are the remains of a fresco that is now nearly disappeared. Some ancient architraves show carvings. Nowadays the settlement is almost entirely abandoned and several buildings are used as deposits for tools.
