Cremona and its music

Cremona's music is closer than what you think

Cremona's history can not be separated from the history of its violin-making workshops: in these magic places it was born, 500 years ago, the violin.
The violin-making tradition represents the most characterizing element of the town, the element for which it is well-known at international level. This is for several reasons: the percentage of violin-making workshops in the town and the instruments included in the different town's collections. The town, in fact, in 2012 was included in the list of UNESCO intangible heritage.
At the Infopoint in the Municipality's Square you could book a tour in the violin-making workshops, where a master will explain you how to make the string instruments; you will know the wood, the tools, the colors and the varnishes used to make the instruments according to the method of some great masters like Amati, Guarneri and Stradivari.
