The Google Cultural Institute provides the cultural world with a new virtual and accessible space on  g.co/performingarts. This project was implemented in cooperation with more than 60 cultural institutions all over the world to allow the users to live a unique digital experience, entirely dedicated to the theatre, dancing and music.

All the projects of the Google Cultural Institute (www.google.com/culturalinstitute) are the results of the strong relationships established with some important Italian and international partners: museums, foundations, sites of cultural interest, archives and other institutions that manage the content included in the technological platforms provided by Google.
Videos at 360° of some shows, panoramic views of Street View and digital exhibitions: the users will enter special places like the Carnegie Hall, the Philharmonic orchestra of Berlin and the Opera Garnier in Paris and, in Italy, the Opera Theatre in Rome, the San Carlo Theatro in Naples, the Teatro della Pergola in Florence and the Violin’s Museum in Cremona. The cooperation with the Violin’s Museum will offer the opportunity to live an exciting experience and to enjoy the magic atmosphere and meaning of our instruments’ collection, which is unique in the world .

The section of the Google Cultural Institute dedicated to the Violin’s Museum  presents its rich collections through a direct connection with the great past Masters  – Amati, Stradivari, Guarneri – and their masterpieces, following the path of art, handicraft skills, creativity and tradition, from the late Renaissance workshops till nowadays.
A series of Street View pictures that allow the visitor to enter, with a virtual tour, in the Museum’s rooms. In the “treasure box” are contained the best instruments of Cremona’s best violin-making tradition, from Andrea Amati to Antonio Stradivari and Giuseppe Guarneri del Gesù. You can get information about the history and the stylistic characteristics of every single instrument. You can also see and listen to the performances of some important international musicians: let be inspired by the sound of these masterpieces and appreciate their different sounds and characteristics.
The pictures include the tools coming from Antonio Stradivari’s workshop (shapes in wood and paper used to make the instruments) and some important documents, like his grave-stone and his death certificate.
